You thought you had a feel for the grip of the roof:
the right shoes, proper distribution of weight. But
here you are, pigeon-toed,
the ball of one foot & opposite heel hanging
off a ledge. For a moment
you're weightless, and you understand
how even lips shift the balance—how just one word
will pitch its mass.
